The Big Boost   Are you 11 to 25?
Do you have an idea that will benefit your community?
The Big Boost gives awards to young people of between £250 and £1000 (11-16) and £500 and £5000 (16-25), to help them get their ideas off the ground.

Big Lottery Fund   Big Lottery Fund was created by merging the New Opportunities Fund and the Community Fund. It gives money to projects that increase opportunities for local communities, particularly young people.   www.biglotteryfund.org

Playful Ideas Programme

 

The Playful Ideas programme will support projects that focus on innovation and new ways of providing for children’s play. Projects seeking funding from this programme must display a creative and novel approach to addressing an identified need within the field of children’s play.

Bridge House Trust   Bridge House Trust Small Grants for London Projects
5 priority areas include older people, children & young people, disabled people, the environment and community activity. Apply if annual income under £50,000.

Camelot Foundation 4front awards   the 4front awards are to support the ideas/dreams of exceptional young people (11-25 years) which will make a difference to the lives of other young people and turn these dreams into a reality.  Applications are assessed by young people.  Check the website for details of the 2008 scheme.   4front awards

Transforming Lives

  The Transforming Lives programme spends £1.5 million each year to develop new approaches and creative ideas for re-connecting marginalised young people to the mainstream of UK life.   Transforming Lives
         
Children's Play   The Big Lottery Fund's £155 million initiative is based on the recommendations of the 2004 play review 'Getting Serious About Play'.  It includes the Playful Ideas programme, Children's Play programme and Play England Project.  Go to 'Open Programmes' for link.   Big Lottery Fund
         
CIDA  

Cultural Industries Development Agency, offering advice and support to cultural and creative industries.

The Creative Growth Grant is offered in conjunction with The Phoenix Fund and Arts Council and is an opportunity to apply for a business development grant of up to £750.

Collaboration Fund  

The Collaboration Fund is open to partnerships of two or more organisations running creative activities that will take place in Lewisham. The upper limit for any award is £5,000 per year. There is one round each year in April.

Commonwealth Foundation   The Foundation's responsive grants enable people from the Commonwealth to take part in activities (including cultural festivals) in other Commonwealth countries   email: geninfo@commonwealth.int
         
Connecting Communities Plus   Grants programme to help achieve the government's strategy to increase race equality and improve community cohesion.  Aimed at locally run and managed voluntary and community organisations with an income of less thant £50,000.  The final round also supports local projects that focus on the legacy of the slave trade.  Closing date 8 January 2008   www.governmentfunding.org.uk

Fidelity UK   Fidelity UK invests in projects based around community development, health, arts & culture and education,
and that include capital improvements, technology upgrades, organisational development & planning initiatives. Grants up to £100,000.

Foundation for Sport and the Arts   Money is divided as two thirds sports and one thirds arts. The foundation looks to encourage wide participation in sports and the arts rather than elite performers and the development of excellence.

Gulbenkian Foundation   Priorities are arts, education and social welfare - strongly focused on capacity building in local groups & neighbourhoods & exploring new forms of area
management & service delivery.

Heritage Lottery Fund - the slave trade   Community organisations and heritage institutions are invited to apply for funding for projects focusing on the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade, which will be in 2007.  HLF is keen to encourage more good quality applications in London.   www.hlf.org.uk/english/howtoapply
         
Heritage Lottery Fund   Young Roots Programme.  Grants of up to £25,000 to help organisations involve young people in the heritage of the United Kingdom.   www.hlf.org.uk
         
Jack Petchey Foundation  

The Jack Petchey Foundation, established in 1999, gives grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11 - 25. The Foundation is eager to help young people take advantage of opportunities and play their full part in society.

Grants are given through different programmes including: Achievement Award Scheme, Leader Award Scheme, Projects Grants and Sponsorship.

London Development Agency Opportunities Fund   The second round of the LDA Opportunities Fund launched on 12 September.  The Fund provides £30 million in grants to support a range of innovative and pilot projects across London, primarily aimed at skills and regeneration projects run by charities, voluntary and other local groups.   London Development Agency Opportunities Fund

Lloyds TSB Foundation   One of the UK's largest grant making trusts.  They give grants to charities that help people, especially those who are disavantaged or disabled, to play a fuller role in their communities. Musicians Benevolent Fund   The MBF's educational role is advanced through a number of award schemes which provide financial support to highly talented young musicians, usually in their final stages of study. Awards are made following audition towards study fees, maintenance and instrument purchase up to a maximum of £5,000.   www.mbf.org.uk

New Cross Gate New Deal for Communities (NDC) is an area based regeneration partnership. It divides its programme in to 6 themes:

PRS Foundation for New Music   The PRS Foundation for new music (PRSF) is a refreshingly approachable and adventurous funding body. Pulse (Wellcome Trust)   A Wellcome Trust initiative, Pulse funds either large scale (up to £50,000) or small scale (up to £10,000) for arts projects engaging young people and biomedical science.

Voluntary Arts Network   VAN itself is not a grant-making body; they aim to give advice and guidance when seeking or applying for funds.

William Wates Memorial Trust   This small trust aims to enhance the lives of disadvantaged young people aged 7-18.  It focuses on sport, arts and education and invests in sustainable projects when possible.  It only considers applications from not for profit organisations, based in London and the South East with a turnover of less that £15000 a year.   www.wwmt.org
